Language Time at Steps To LearningSteps to Learning Preschool (STLP) believes that children are our future and with a curriculum that reflects our philosophy, we will enhance and support the child, family, and community.  Together, we will nurture the child’s emotional, physical, cognitive, creative and social growth and development.  We will foster the child’s naturally active inquiry, exploration and discovery of the world with the following goals:

  • The development of problem-solving skills.
  • Teach Math, Language, Science, emphasis on motor skills, practical life skills and appreciation of creative expressions including music, dancing, dramatic play, cooking, animal life, nature, art, and construction.
  • Challenge and support each child.
  • Promote one’s talents.
  • Teach the skills of self-learning, effective reading and clear writing.
  • The development of a realistic self-image and positive self-esteem.
  • The development of self-confidence, a sense of dignity and self-worth.
  • The development of increasing creativity, independence, autonomy and competency.
  • The enjoyment of one’s own natural curiosity and the processes involved in discovering the world.
  • The development of social interaction skills with other children as well as adults.
  • The development of an awareness, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
  • The development of respect and responsibility through an awareness of self and others as a part of family, friends, and community.

FOOD PROGRAMS

We believe that nutrition is an important part of child’s development. Therefore we provide a healthy breakfast and a light afternoon snack without any additional charge. Lunch is optional with an extra cost. Steps to Learning Preschool was a participant of the State Department of Nutrition, Child and Adult Care Food Program.
We follow the same standards and regulations as the State Department of Nutrition for our food program.
